The students of the Department of Civil Engineering, Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College (BCREC), Durgapur had an enriching visit to the Structural Health Monitoring Laboratory at National Institute of Technology Durgapur. During the visit, students had the opportunity to interact with Prof. (Dr.) Pijush Topdar, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, along with Research Scholars Ms. Neetika, Mr. Chinmay, and Mr. Arghya. The experts provided valuable insights into the latest techniques and technologies used in Structural Health Monitoring and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).
Students witnessed live demonstrations and gained hands-on understanding of advanced NDT instruments including:
🔹 Rebound Hammer
🔹 Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity Meter
🔹 Re-Bar Locator
🔹 Acoustic Emission System
The session offered an excellent platform for bridging theoretical knowledge with practical applications in modern civil engineering practices.
The students were accmpanied by Dr. Anupam Kumar Biswas and Dr. Soumyadip Das from the Department of Civil Engineering, BCREC.
